Vinita Nair
In July of 2004 Nair joined ABC News and covered a variety of stories. These included the investigation into the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey and the shootings that occurred in Bailey, Colorado. Nair began her career as an ABC News anchor/correspondent in December 2007 at ABC News Now. As a reporter she was responsible for anchoring live coverage as well as news briefs on ABC's network on the internet. Nair anchors World News Now on ABC since September 17, 2008. through the 18th of February, 2011 and America This Morning. In both programs, she was partnered first alongside Jeremy Hubbard then later Rob Nelson. Nair announced to the viewers of World News Now that she did not plan to appear in World News Now after Friday 18th of February 2011. It would also be one final day of work for ABC News. Former KDVR Denver anchor Peggy Bunker was her immediate successor. The edition on February 18, World News Now paid tribute to Nair during each of its three segments, including appearances by current and former coworkers, such as Jeremy Hubbard. The day she left she treated the entire crew to breakfast.
