Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television personality in the United States as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and pumped-up persona on the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, provides an easy and straightforward techniques for home cooks. Chef Burrell was employed in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary tradition and its environment. Additionally, she competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. After earning an English and Communication diploma from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the industry of restaurants by registering as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America is a wonderful learning experience. Culinary Institute of America was a great location to learn. After graduating, Burrell spent one year learning in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. She gained a deeper knowledge of Italian culinary and cultural traditions during her stay in Italy and this has affected her cooking style. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of kids who struggle. Additionally, she is a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation celebrity advocate in which she has a mission to raise awareness for young diabetics. Burrell travels extensively across the country in her role as both a mentor and guest speaker where she discusses her work and passion for cooking. Anne said she felt lucky in that she could be able to share her passion for cooking with others.
