Antonina Shevchenko, an Kyrgyzstani Muay-Thai fighter from Peru, and mixed martial artist who is competing for in the UFC in the Flyweight Division is currently an Kyrgyzstani. She is also the elder sister of an earlier UFC Flyweight champion as well as the fellow UFC athlete Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko's career in combat sports started in the form of a Muay Thai athlete. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title after which she defeated Suzane Mller with a majority vote. Antonina kept her winning streak going by taking home bronze and silver medals in 2007 and 2008 respectively, as well as a Gold medal in 2011, along with the title of year-end 2016 IFMA amateur world champion. Antonia began her professional journey in 2003, and she won the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012. She also won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016, and also the WMC as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. She was then able to defeat Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4, in the same decision. The promotion ended in 2018 and joined Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina TKO'd Nievera with her impressive striking ability at the end of the fight with knees placed on her body. Antonina Shevchenko was given a UFC contract following this win. Antonina was offered a UFC contract following her win. Shevchenko took the win via unanimous decision but was defeated in her subsequent fight with Roxanne Modafferi via split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss by defeating Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler by a rear-naked choke submission. She was awarded the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko has a record of 1-2 during her subsequent three matches, winning against Ariane Lipski and falling to Katlyn Clarkagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina lost to Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
